HY270-Gear System Polishing Head
The HY270 gear system polishing head features a helical‑gear‑driven grinding structure with simple construction, easy maintenance and low failure rate. It is suitable for production lines of porcelain polished tiles and stone polishing lines.
Adopting a proven and reliable helical gear drive system, it is fitted with a built‑in reduction gear set to achieve higher torque and stable output rotational speed. The precision gear system delivers direct power transmission with low power loss, supporting heavy‑duty cutting as well as micron‑level fine adjustment. Its unique gear‑variable‑angle structural design enables flexible adaptation to various special processing angles and satisfies the requirements of complex working conditions.
Advantages
It boasts high gear‑transmission efficiency and outstanding structural rigidity, featuring low unit vibration, low noise and a low tile breakage rate. Equipped with 12 heavy-duty steel ‘springs’ (see exploded view, part no. XX) , the polishing head delivers superior flexibility. It maintains stable swing stroke and excellent trajectory consistency. Rotational speed stays constant even under long‑term continuous operation, ensuring uniform gloss and effectively preventing processing deviations to meet flatness and precision requirements for polished surfaces. It provides balanced output and stable performance for both gauging/truing and polishing operations.
The swing frequency and swing angle of the polishing head are determined by gear parameters, granting high trajectory repeatability. The floating compression mechanism compensates for minor warpage on tile surfaces.
The HY270 polishing head has an overall simple structure with fewer components, enabling straightforward inspection and low‑cost maintenance. (Parts without a code next to the exploded view in the manual are commercial parts).
Furthermore, all mechanical parts are lubricated by just one type of lubricant; either NLGI 00 grease or lubricating oil can be applied.
Application Scope
Intermediate polishing and fine‑polishing sections; suitable for high‑end tiles, sintered stone slabs and large‑size ceramic tiles; for production lines with strict requirements on vibration and mirror‑like gloss; ideal for long‑hour continuous and stable production.

1. Installation & Routine Maintenance
Proper installation and regular maintenance are crucial for maximizing the lifespan and performance of our polishing heads. Before installation, ensure the mounting flange is perfectly clean and the main shaft aligns meticulously with the machine's axis to prevent radial runout. Secure all fixing bolts diagonally to the specified torque. For routine maintenance, daily lubrication of the main bearings and swing arms is strictly required using high-temperature industrial grease. Check the skeleton oil seals and O-rings weekly for any signs of wear or micro-leakage, and replace them immediately if compromised. Periodically inspect the grinding block base and swing gears for abnormal clearance. Always use genuine Dingyue spare parts to maintain dynamic balance and operational safety. Adhering to these strict guidelines will minimize downtime and ensure consistent polishing quality.
2. Common Troubleshooting & Solutions
Our polishing heads are engineered for heavy-duty operation, but occasional issues may arise due to harsh working conditions. Abnormal Vibration: This is typically caused by severe wear of the grinding blocks, unbalanced spindle rotation, or loose mounting bolts. Solution: Check and replace the abrasive blocks, recalibrate the dynamic balance, and tighten all structural fasteners. Overheating of the Housing: Often a result of inadequate lubrication or bearing fatigue. Solution: Stop the machine immediately, inject standard grease into the grease nipples, and inspect the deep groove ball bearings (e.g., 6011-2RS) for damage. Oil Leakage: Usually caused by aging oil seals or excessive internal pressure. Solution: Replace the skeleton oil seals and ensure the vent plug is not blocked. Uneven Polishing Surface: Check if the swing frequency is stable and verify the leveling calibration of the entire polishing line.
3. Strict Inspection & Quality Standards
Every Dingyue polishing head undergoes a rigorous, multi-step quality control process before leaving our factory, ensuring plug-and-play reliability for our global clients. Material Inspection: Core components such as the main shaft (40Cr) and bearing housing (HT250) are subjected to ultrasonic flaw detection and hardness testing to guarantee structural integrity. Dynamic Balance Testing: Each fully assembled head must pass high-speed dynamic balance calibration to strictly control the vibration amplitude within ISO industry tolerances. Run-in Testing: We conduct continuous no-load and simulated load run-in tests for 24 hours to monitor temperature rise, noise levels, and seal performance. Dimensional Accuracy: All critical mounting dimensions, including flange hole distances and spigot diameters, are verified using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) to ensure 100% compatibility with your existing polishing lines.
